Biography
Kuo I-Chen's works are concerned with the fields of space science, philosophy of life, environmental crisis, and spiritual belonging. His works focus on the unique core value of "absence" and explore the nature of life by creating a distinctive lyrical and situational vocabulary through different forms of media. His work "Invade" represented Taiwan at the 2005 Venice Biennale and won the first prize at the Taipei Art Awards in 2005. His children's book "The Universe Lost a Baby Tooth" won the Golden Tripod Award in 2016, and he was the Artistic Director of Polymer Art Space (2017-2018), and founded the "STUPIN Artist Studio Residency Platform" in 2017. His works have been invited to exhibit at the Taipei Biennale, Singapore Biennale, Biennale of Sydney, Seoul Media City Biennale, the ZKM Center for Art and Media Karlsruhe Germany, and other renowned museums. He continues to be invited to exhibit his works all over the world.
